Open, edit and preview more files without leaving Polybase

Markdown becomes editable Docs, Word stays private and in-app, and PowerPoint and Excel files preserve more of their original structure as teams work.

Open, edit and preview more files without leaving Polybase

Polybase now keeps more everyday file work inside the workspace. Upload a Markdown file and it opens as an editable native Doc, while keeping its familiar filename and Markdown download. Private Word files are rendered into in-app PDF previews, and Drive can use those preview pages as useful thumbnails.

PowerPoint rendering now retains more of the source presentation, including theme colours and fonts, gradients, charts, tables, custom shapes, equations, media and motion details. A shared in-session cache also avoids parsing the same presentation again as it moves between Drive, search and other views.

Excel editing now preserves substantially more workbook structure through open, edit and save cycles. Formulas, rich text, hyperlinks, theme styling, images, charts, validation and conditional formatting remain attached to the workbook, while row and column changes keep related ranges aligned.

Finding the right file is more fluid too. Document search adapts its preview to the available space, from compact results to a focused reading view, and the channel Drive sidebar can be resized to give long folder and document names more room.
